Children are placed in the Young Toddler program at approximately 12-15 months of age.
Each classroom has a ratio of 1 teacher to every 4 children to ensure that your child has quality care. The bond between the caregiver and the child is important to cultivate, so the children bond to one main teacher. Children sleep in the classroom on cots and eat in the classroom.
Children in the Young Toddler room continue to learn and develop through play in the following three areas: socio-emotionally, cognitively, and physically. Socio-emotional growth is fostered as children focus on themselves in this stage. They will begin to recognize their reflection and will call themselves by name. Children develop cognitively as they begin to build their vocabulary through stories and songs as well as teacher-child interactions. Physical development is fostered through attention to small and large motor skills incorporated into daily lesson plans. Every aspect of the classroom is intentionally designed to help your child grow.
